FR spent countless hours at the British Museum doing research on ancient astronomy. At that time the Museum included the reading rooms and books that are now in the British Library.

PictureScarborough, spa town
At Scarborough and Filey on the North Sea (then called the German Sea), FR set up Infant Schools while living among relatives and friends.

PictureLondon street scene
As a child, FR loved the country at Dulwich, where her family spent the summers, but she hated the smoky, dirty, damp London in winter.
