  • About this photo
The purpose of this website is to give Frances Rolleston some deserved attention. She is known almost exclusively for her book Mazzaroth: the Constellations, yet her exemplary life is probably more deserving of recognition than those of better known Victorian women. The one memorial to her is this fountain in Keswick, placed in 1865, the year after her death, in appreciation of her efforts on behalf of the needy.
